Brighter Works
Training & Guidance for More Confident Communication
Our workshops are about giving people confident communication skills through practice and play.
We believe that confidence isn’t something you wait to feel: it’s something you need to practise. And we believe doing hard things can be fun.
Meet Michelle & Kirsty
Michelle Fahrenheim is an actor and coach who has spent the last ten years helping people find their voice and confidence. She’s worked with diplomats, educators, senior managers and creatives to help them communicate authentically, and feel genuinely present and valuable in the room.
Kirsty Cooke is a marketing consultant who has spent the last fifteen years helping brands find and tell their story, in order to engage customers. She brings the same skills to working with individuals: teasing out what’s most interesting, relevant, and likely to get them to their desired outcome.
Together, they combine the craft of storytelling with the tools of performance: so workshop participants uncover what they want to say, and how to say it with confidence. Both are trained improvisers, and regularly perform in theatres across the UK.
Our ethos
Our workshops are based around some core principles:
Confidence starts with the body. How you stand, move, and speak shapes how you come across, and how you feel. We start with physical and vocal work to get you out of your head and into the room.
Confidence is built through doing. The doing is the learning. We give people multiple chances to practice realistic scenarios, in their own voice, get feedback, adjust, and try again.
Breakthroughs come from reflection. The pause is just as important as the repetition. We talk about every exercise, before and after, to make sure the learning sticks.
Being brave can be playful. When something feels fun, people take more risks. We use games and activities to lower the stakes, increase participation, and build a bit of resilience.
Our services
It’s easier than ever to find information. You can study tips from confident communicators online, watch the Ted Talks, listen to the podcasts and read the books.
But when it comes to speaking up and being heard, you need practice.
There is no substitute for trying things out: whether that’s learning to use your body and voice in a more impactful way, role-playing a difficult conversation until it feels natural and easy, or connecting with others (and getting real-time feedback on how your words are landing).
We work with companies to deliver workshops that have a lasting impact: leading to better conversations, and brighter work.

Practice Networking Skills: From Awkward Small Talk To Real Connection
We all know networks are super useful: personally and professionally. But walking into a room full of strangers and chatting to them – never mind creating instant rapport and lasting impact – doesn’t always feel easy, or fun.
But networking can (and should) be enjoyable!
In our workshops, participants build confidence introducing themselves, learn what to listen for and what questions to ask, and practice talking to new people – over and over again. All through playful practice.
Nail Your Elevator Pitch: Introducing Yourself With Confidence
How do we open clearly and confidently, to make a positive first impression on those that we meet?
Nailing your personal introduction is one of the foundations of becoming a more confident communicator overall.
In this playful workshop, we create a supportive space for participants to discover, practise and hone their personal introduction: what to say, how to say it, and how to make sure it lands as intended.
